Overview
Gatonde District Hospital was established through the issuance of a letter No 20/686/CPHSD/2021 on March 1, 2021. The hospital serves a population of over 104,000 residents from five sectors of Gakenke District: Busengo, Janja, Muzo, Mugunga, and Rusasa. Officially beginning its operations on April 14, 2021, Gatonde District Hospital has a capacity to accommodate 60 in-patients and offers a variety of outpatient services. The hospital integrates six health centers, namely Nyundo, Rutake, Gatonde, Janja, Busengo, and Rusoro. Located in the Mugunga sector, the hospital is situated to 31 kilometers from Musanze city.
