Core duties include medical waste management, infection control supervision, safe water and food surveillance, vector control, and occupational health and safety monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Waste Management: Safe handling, segregation, and disposal of biohazardous, sharps, and general hospital waste.
  • Infection Prevention: Routine cleaning, terminal disinfection of rooms, and monitoring hygiene standards across wards.
  • Water & Food Safety: Testing water quality, inspecting treatment plants, and overseeing food hygiene for patients and staff.
  • Vector & Pest Control: Managing and suppressing populations of mosquitoes, rodents, and other disease carriers.
  • Public Health Outreach: Supporting community-level health promotion, sanitation education, and communicable disease tracking in the hospital’s catchment zone.
